Terms of Service

Effective date: August 31, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Billcraft (the “Service”), a web application that lets you create, preview, and download invoices as PDF or Excel files. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

1. Who can use Billcraft

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You’re responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with all laws that apply to you, including in the country or state where you or your clients are located.

2. Your account

  • You must provide an accurate email address and keep your login credentials confidential.
  • You’re responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We aren’t liable for losses caused by someone else using your account with credentials you failed to keep secure.
  • One account per person or business. Creating multiple accounts to get around the free-tier download limit is a violation of these Terms (see Section 5).

3. Free plan and paid subscription

Billcraft offers a free plan limited to 2 watermarked document downloads per account, and a paid plan (“Pro”) priced at $9.00 per month that removes the watermark and download limit.

  • Billing. Pro is billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, using the payment method you provide. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge that payment method automatically on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
  • Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. We’ll give you reasonable advance notice by email before any price increase takes effect for your account.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal inside the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep Pro access until then, and you won’t be charged again afterward.
  • Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods or unused downloads.
  • Taxes. Prices don’t include applicable taxes; where we’re required to collect them, they’ll be added to your charge.

4. Your content

“Your Content” means the business, client, and line-item information you enter into the invoice form. You retain all rights to Your Content. You’re solely responsible for its accuracy, legality, and appropriateness — including making sure any invoice you generate is accurate, that you have the right to bill for the goods or services listed, and that it complies with tax, accounting, and consumer-protection laws that apply to your business. Billcraft is a document formatting tool, not an accounting, tax, or legal service, and we don’t review or verify Your Content.

Generated documents are created on demand and streamed to you; we don’t currently store a copy of your invoices on our servers after you download them.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Billcraft to:

  • Create fraudulent, deceptive, or fictitious invoices, or bill anyone for goods or services not actually provided;
  • Impersonate another person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or business;
  • Violate any applicable law, including tax, consumer-protection, or anti-fraud law;
  • Circumvent the free-tier download limit (e.g., via multiple accounts, automated signups, or shared/disposable email addresses used for that purpose);
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the Service’s security or rate limits;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell the Service or its templates without our written permission;
  • Upload malicious code or content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property rights; or
  • Use the Service in any way that could disable, overburden, or impair it for other users.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice, and may report fraudulent activity to payment processors or, where required, to law enforcement.

6. Intellectual property

Billcraft, its templates, design, and underlying software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or source code. You keep all rights to Your Content.

7. Third-party services

We use third-party providers to operate Billcraft, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (authentication and database), and an email provider (transactional email). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers processing data on our behalf as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON’T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT GENERATED DOCUMENTS ARE FREE OF FORMATTING OR CALCULATION ERRORS — ALWAYS REVIEW A DOCUMENT BEFORE SENDING IT TO A CLIENT.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BILLCRAFT AND ITS OPERATORS WON’T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WON’T EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Billcraft harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service (or parts of it) with reasonable notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., Sections 6, 8, 9, and 10) will survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or through the app before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, unless a mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
